Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ForkTale collaborative writing platform operated by ForkTale Inc. ("ForkTale", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ForkTale.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract to use ForkTale. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

Your content and ownership

You retain ownership of the stories, scripts, documents, and other material you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant ForkTale a limited license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the platform, including collaboration and sharing features you choose to use.

Acceptable use

• Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes the intellectual property or other rights of others.
• Do not use the platform for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive activity.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' data.

Intellectual property

The ForkTale platform, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by ForkTale and protected by applicable law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our branding or technology except as needed to use the platform as intended.

Termination

You may stop using ForkTale and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. ForkTale is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the platform. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
